The FCS is composed of academic staff drawn from Swiss universities. Scholarship awards are made on the basis of academic and scientific excellence.

Painting and Patronage Scholarship launched for 2010-2011

Painting & Patronage Scholarship launched for 2010-2011
Painting & Patronage is delighted to announce that a new scholarship programme has been launched in partnership with The Prince's School of Traditional Arts in London. Each scholarship is a one year award open to students of Saudi Arabian nationality who wish to join the postgraduate programme at The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London.
This scholarship scheme is part of the wider 2010-2011 Painting & Patronage Programme recently announced under the joint Presidency of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Province and HRH The Prince of Wales. This new scholarship programme also builds on an earlier summer school programme which initially took place during 2000-2001 and was relaunched in July 2010.
The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts was founded in 2004 by HRH The Prince of Wales as one of his core charities. The Prince’s School offers practising artists the opportunity to undertake research at the highest level with post-graduate degrees (MA, MPhil, PhD) validated by the University of Wales.
The School’s courses combine the teaching of the practical skills of the traditional arts and craft s with an understanding of the philosophy inherent within them. People come from all over the world to study at The School making a diverse and unique mix of students. Through the School’s programmes:
vocational skills are passed to a new generation and used to develop sustainable products.
school children are inspired to learn through a unique education technique that combines art, maths and philosophy.
communities are brought together by promoting tolerance between cultures and the recognition of common values held by all.
Fundamental to the objectives of the Painting & Patronage Programme is the commitment of HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal to encourage an appreciation of the universal values that are essential to the practice and understanding of these traditional arts and crafts, and to support their regeneration as a valid means of contemporary expression.
