Engineering scholarships/Financial Aid at University of Kentucky, USA 2011/2012

We want to give you the extra financial edge you need to succeed! The College of Engineering awards several scholarships based on your high school grade point average, ACT or SAT scores, writing ability and overall leadership potential. Most engineering scholarships are partial scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000, and the average first-year scholarship ranges from $1,500 to $3,000. Below are a few of the automatic scholarships as well as the scholarships offered by the university. Automatic Scholarship
$3,000 per year or $1500 per semester for up to eight semesters. Incoming freshmen with a minimum 29 composite ACT score, a minimum 33 math ACT score and a 3.5 high school GPA qualify. A brief application form is required, and can be downloaded from the College of Engineering’s web site at http://www.engr.uky.edu/scholarships/freshman.php.
University of Kentucky scholarships
Flagship Scholarship
$1,500 non-renewable. Incoming freshmen whose highest ACT score is 26-27 or SAT (M+CR) is 1170-1240 and achieve a 3.30 high school GPA qualify. No application is required.
The Provost Scholarship
$1,500 for up to four years. Incoming freshmen whose minimum ACT score is 28 or SAT (M+CR) is 1250 and achieve a 3.30 high school GPA qualify. No application is required.
Competitive Scholarships for Freshmen
Varies. Incoming freshmen with a minimum test score of 31 ACT or 1360 SAT (M+CR) and minimum GPA of 3.75 qualify. The deadline to apply for competitive scholarships is January 15.
