ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. BA degree in Anthropology and/or Psychology and/or Cognitive Science.
2. Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques.
3. Proficiency with SPSS and Inquisit or SuperLab4.
4. Ability to contribute to method improvement where required.
5. Ability to interact with research colleagues and to make presentations in conferences.
6. Demonstrable intellectual ability.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. MA in Cognition and Culture.
2. Research experience in South Africa.
3. Demonstrable knowledge in the domain of the cognitive sciences, in general, and in moral psychology and the cognitive science of religion, in particular.



To help implement the research related to the EOARD grant “Toward an Understanding of Moral Judgments Concerning Violent Behaviour.” The project will study the capacities and dispositions involved in moral judgments concerning violent behaviors from a cross-cultural perspective. The fundamental aim is to understand to which extent and in which way human beings may morally judge that violent behaviour is acceptable and even obligatory. The research, which will utilize both qualitiative and quantitative methods, will be carried out in Northern Ireland and South Africa.
