Eligibility:
Applicants should hold a Master degree in medicine, molecular/cell biology related fields. Practical experience in molecular biology, cell biology and/or biochemistry will be advantageous but not essential. The successful candidates must be able to communicate in English.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our PhD program in the field of stem cell biology. Department of Biology labs are based in newly opened Masaryk University campus in Brno. The Department hosts multi-national scientists and provides a highly interactive and friendly environment with state-of-the-art research facilities. In addition to regular scholarship, outstanding PhD students will receive research fellowship of 5500CZK per month including travel expenses for the most relevant meetings and conferences. The team has published many articles in leading scientific journals, e.g.: Stem Cells, 27:1847-1857, 2009; Nature Biotechnology, 28:371-377, 2010; Stem Cells 29:46-56, 2011 Successful candidates are expected to work in one of the following research topics: •Signalling networks in pluripotent stem cells •Genomic instability of pluripotent stem cells •Disease modelling using induced pluripotent stem cells •Molecular mechanisms underlying neurogenesis •Cardiac differentiation of pluripotent stem cells •Metabolism and cell fate decision in pluripotent stem cells
