Eligibility:

-PhD qualification in Biology/Biochemistry

-Publication record in peer-reviewed journals

-Ability to work independently within an agreed framework

-Ability and willingness to learn new analytical methods and skills

-Experience and a track record in working with and developing a variety of techniques

-Excellent communication skills on paper and verbally, including good IT skills.

-Good organisational skills

-Ability to work as part of a team

-Expertise in technical methods including track record of cell culture using primary material from patient samples and cell biological methodologies such as cell sorting

-A flexible and adaptable attitude to work.

-Previous experience of in vitro co-culture models and in vivo metastasis models for breast cancer cells

Post Doctoral Research Associate to work in the Breast Biology Group within the Paterson Institute for Cancer research. The two-year Breakthrough Breast Cancer-funded programme aims to improve killing of metastatic breast CSC potential during adjuvant treatment by establishing how to target the metastatic niche interactions in combination with current standard therapies.

The primary aim of the role is to investigate cancer stem cell and co-culture models in vitro in order to learn about niche signals and validate these models in in vivo models where necessary.

This post is tenable for a period of twenty four months.
