The Focal Petroleum Scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled full-time in their first year at Curtin University undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering).

The scholarship is being offered by Focal Petroleum Engineering Pty Ltd- an independent engineering consulting firm specialising in the areas of Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering and Production Operations. The company has been servicing clients in the domestic and international oil and gas industries for the past 17 years. Through this scholarship, Focal Petroleum Engineering seeks to reward and develop students interested in petroleum engineering.

Eligibility:

-Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be considered for the Focal Petroleum Scholarship: Be an Australian citizen or an -Australian Permanent Resident

-Be commencing or be enrolled in their 1st year of study of a 312158

-Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering) in Semester 1 2011 as a full-time student.

-Be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported place at the University.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) Australia

Scholarship Details:

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships are available to international applicants only. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding Research Higher Degree (RHD) candidates and cover tution fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the candidate and their accompanying dependants.

Eligibility Details:

* be an international applicant,
* meet international student visa requirements as specified by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)
* undertake a research project in an area of research strength at The University of Queensland
* be commencing full-time enrolment in a RHD program for the first time in Australia
* be in receipt of, or be eligible to receive, an Unconditional Offer of Admission
* not hold a qualification equivalent to or at a higher level than the research higher degree program you are undertaking
* not have held an Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the IPRS
* not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution
* be nominated by your enrolling School/Institute. Candidates can only be nominated twice. The second nomination must be made within 12 months of the first nomination and before the candidate has commenced their program
