NSBE’s Academic Improvement Scholarships for Sophomores, Graduate Students, USA

Eligibility:
-Have a confirmed cumulative GPA of below 3.2 at the beginning of fall 2011 semester
-Be a paid collegiate member
-Be at least a sophomore (2nd year student)
-Not graduate before May 2013
-Submit an essay (400-600 words) detailing how your academic performance has improved by involvement with NSBE. This should include participation in NSBE programming (NSBE Retention Program, NSBE Study Hall, Technical Research Exhibition), NSBE Leadership, and/or attendance at NSBE Conventions

NSBE’s Academic Improvement Scholarships provide monetary support for students who are working to improve their GPA, or have improved their academic performance through active involvement in NSBE.

Eligibility:



1.Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2009, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2009, is eligible to apply.
2.The applicant must be a high school senior.
3.If the applicant’s parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent’s Elks Lodge.



Through its three scholarship programs, the Elks National Foundation awards more than $3.6 million a year in college scholarships. Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 per year for four years). The Foundation will offer a total of up to 250 awards Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 year for four years). The Foundation offers a total of up to 250 awards. Children and grandchildren will compete separately against other children and grandchildren in their state. Each state is eligible to receive a number of awards based on its past support of the Elks National Foundation.

To be eligible for a Beinecke Scholarship, a student must:
• Have demonstrated superior standards of intellectual ability, scholastic achievement and personal promise during his or her undergraduate career. (A cumulative UCSB grade point average of 3.7 or higher is required.)
• Be a college junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree during the 2011-2012 academic year. “Junior” means a student who plans to continue full-time undergraduate study and who expects to receive a baccalaureate degree between December 2012 and August 2013.
• Plans to enter a master’s or doctoral program in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
• Be a United States citizen or a United States national from American Samoa or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Twenty Beinecke Scholarships will be awarded nationwide in 2012 to encourage and enable highly motivated undergraduate students to pursue graduate school opportunities in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Each scholar receives a total of $34,000, $4,000 directly to the student prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 in support while in graduate school.

This scholarship is open to students that meet the following criteria: 1. Enrolled in a full-time four year undergraduate degree program or graduate degree program for the college year 2011/2012 2. The student is from a family with a total annual income below $60,000 3. The student is pursuing a degree in science or technology 4. The student has achieved a straight A average in the final year of high school or a G.P.A of at least 3.5 in their prior year of study 5. The student is a U.S. citizen.

Wavelet Foundation, Inc. is offering one or more scholarships for college each year. The one-year awards are granted to applicants that are highly motivated, reflect a potential for accomplishment, and demonstrate a commitment to enriching the lives of others in their communities or around the world. Funds available for the awards may vary each year. 2011 SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION In 2011, Wavelet Foundation, Inc. will award a total of three scholarships for $2,500 each. The individuals awarded these scholarships will be eligible to receive them for their subsequent years of study if they continue to maintain a G.P.A of 3.5 or higher and continue to meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship in subsequent years. Eligibility:
In order to be eligible to receive a Trico Foundation Scholarship, applicants must:
• Be a Trico Member or the immediate family of a Trico Member (e.g., spouse, dependent child, etc.).
• Be a full-time undergraduate student. (Applicant must carry a minimum course load of 12 credit hours.)
• Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or greater.
Awards are given for either a two-year school or a four-year school, not a combination of both. Students attending two-year schools are awarded $1,840 ($920 per semester), while students attending four-year schools are awarded $4,600 ($2,300 per semester). Awards are made directly to the college or university. Under almost all circumstances, scholarships must be used in the 2012-2013 academic year. Possible exceptions may be made for military service, special church-related service or serious medical issues. All deferrals must be approved by the Trico Foundation Board.
