Postdoctoral Position in Biomedical Informatics, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, USA
The Department of Clinical Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, TX) is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to train on an NIAID-funded project to develop computational methods for the identification of genes conferring host susceptibility to Staphylococcus aureus infection. The computational methods will make use of multiple types of data, such as genomic sequence data (SNP data), functional genomic data (gene expression microarray data), and disease phenotype data. This is a multi-disciplinary project involving collaboration between clinicians, experimentalist, computer scientists, and computational biologists. The project is an integral part of a larger program to develop computational methods for the study of host-pathogen interactions. A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or Computer Science is required. Experience in scientific programming is also required. Analysis of high-throughput data and at least basic biological knowledge is preferred.
To apply, please send a current C.V./resume and three reference letters to Dr. Lindsay Cowell (pam.oliver[ at ]utsouthwestern.edu)
UT Southwestern Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer
