Every application that is submitted must be complete in English and must comply with the following criteria in order to be eligible: – The Post-Doctoral work must fall within the scope of one of the themes identified by the AXA Scientific Board (as indicated below). Any research project that does not fall within the defined scope will be declared ineligible, regardless of its merits. Although these projects must fit into any of these themes, we will accept applications coming from any discipline; – The period between the date on which the AXA Research Fund announces the results of its selection process and the starting date of the Post-Doc must not exceed 12 months; – Candidates must fulfil the eligible Geographic scope of the funding.

The principal criteria used to make a scientific and academic assessment of the applications submitted are:

1. The academic excellence of the candidate, assessed on the basis of his or her transcripts at the Ph.D. level and the excellence of the previous curriculum,

2. The innovative approach and originality of the Post-Doctoral project,

3. The international scope of the host research laboratory,

4. The quality of the conditions offered to the Post-Doctoral applicant by the host laboratory,

5. The feasibility (access to resources, etc.) of the project, and the impact of its potential results.

Names of shortlisted candidates will be put forward by the Graduate School to the AXA Research Fund for review/selection. Once the selection of applications has been made, AXA will contact each candidate to inform him/her of its decision.
