Macquarie University Indigenous Research Scholarships (MQRES)
Scholarship Description
Five full-time postgraduate Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarships (MQRES) are available to Indigenous Australians of strong research potential to study in an area of interest to the University. Applicants will be required to confirm their Indigenous Australian identity and provide two referee reports, one from an Indigenous Australian. A Supplementary Indigenous Identity Form must also be submitted. It is important to refer to the ad at http://www.hdr.mq.edu.au/information_about/scholarships/hdr_scholarships_domestic_candidates_only for more information and instructions. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their application with the Director of Warawara, A/Prof Susan Page and may also discuss research project options with Prof Ritchie Howitt. This scholarship is offered annually to 5 people. Open for applications from January 1, 2011 until December 1, 2011.
Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD22860 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of up to 3 and a half years.

Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 2a or equivalent. To apply you must be a Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or AUS permanent resident can apply.
