Mediation Scholarships in 2011
CPD Seminars are offering scholarships on the Accredited Mediation Training (Foundation & Advanced) taking place on a variety of dates in 2011. There are a total of eight places to be won from the categories below.
Trainee accountants, apprentice solicitors and barristers and other trainees such as architects and chartered secretaries ,have a great opportunity to submit a Great essay before Tuesday,15th November 2011 in order to be in with a chance to win a scholarship place on the forthcoming Foundation Course in Accredited Mediation, taking place on Friday 25th & Saturday 26th November 2011 in Dublin, successful candidates will go on then to complete Part 2, The Advanced Course and on successful completion of the examination process in January 2012, they will be eligible to join the panel of mediators with Mediation Forum Ireland and be entitled to the designation, Accredited Mediator.
The successful completion of both courses will accredit the successful entrants with Mediation Forum Ireland and will enable them to practice as an Accredited Mediator.
Entry Requirements to the Mediation Courses
Entrants must be:
* An apprentice solicitor or solicitor of no more than three years practice
* A devil or qualified barrister of no more than 3 years call
* A law student
* CIPD student
* A trainee accountant of no more than three years in practice
* A trainee chartered secretary of no more than three years in practice
* A trainee architect of no more than three years in practice
What Is The Academic Paper On?
Entrants must submit a type written essay of no more than 2,500 words on the subject of alternative dispute resolution e.g.
“S.I.No. 209 of 2011, European Communities (Mediation) Regulations, 2011, How applicable are these new Regulations for cross-border disputes in Ireland?”
“Was the Arbitration Act 2010 Necessary?””
“What can Mediation do for Nama”, “The Circuit Court Case Progression Rules & ADR”
“Section 24 of the Multi Unit Developments Act 2011”,
“ A critique of the LRC proposed Mediation and Conciliation Bill”
” Will Mediation become Mandatory in Apartment Management Company Disputes?”
“Mediation for the HSE?” . What do the need?
“Order 56A, S.I. 502 Rules Of the Superior Courts (Mediation and Conciliation) 2010,
Is this the End of Lawyers?”
” Can the new Construction Contracts Bill 2010 deliver a solution for the industry?”
Be creative.
All entries to be accompanied with a cover letter stating the entrants name, address, telephone number, job title or university etc. and confirming that they agree to their essay being posted on the website of CPD Seminars as a resource to the ADR community in Ireland and abroad.

The Successful Entry:
The judging panel including Ercus Stewart SC, Paulyn Marrinan Quinn SC and Brian Walker BL will decide the successful entries. Those entrants will then be entitled to attend their chosen Foundation and Advanced Course in mediation in the year 2011. See mediation for other training dates.
