MSc in Agricultural Economics or equivalent
-minimum 3 years’ research experience working on irrigation and water management projects and impact analysis
-experience of developing survey questionnaires on socio-agro-economics, water and poverty
-experience in working and supervising field teams in rural areas of Pakistan
-record of publications
-proficiency in standard MS Office applications including Access and SPSS
-ability to frame questions related to irrigation management from an economic perspective
-excellent presentation and communication skills in English, both oral and written
-ability to work in multidisciplinary teams in an international environment

If you possess a master’s degree or a higher qualification in agricultural economics from a recognized institution, and have at least 3 years’ research experience working on irrigation and water management projects and impact analysis, you could be the person we are looking for. The Researcher – Agricultural Economics is responsible to undertake socioeconomic fieldwork of projects in conjunction with a Senior Economist at the Pakistan office of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). The Researcher will initially focus on the project, Revitalizing Irrigation in Pakistan, and will include analysis and evaluation of Water User Associations, economics of conjunctive water use, and social acceptability of irrigation reforms. This person will report to the Senior Researcher – Irrigation and will be based at the Pakistan office of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Lahore, Pakistan.
